How Glass Joker scales

Glass Joker gains ×0.75 Mult permanently every time a Glass card is destroyed. Glass cards have an enhancement that gives ×2 Mult when scored and a 1 in 4 chance to be destroyed on play.

The economics: each Glass card has a 25% chance to die per play. A Glass card that survives 4 plays on average then shatters → +×0.75 to Glass Joker, while contributing ×2 Mult on each of those 4 plays.

How to seed Glass cards into your deck

Glass cards don't show up naturally. You need to apply the Glass enhancement:

  • The Justice tarot: adds Glass to one selected card. Cheap and reliable.
  • The Magician tarot: adds Lucky enhancement (wrong — Magician adds Lucky, not Glass). For Glass, use Justice.
  • Standard Packs: cards inside come with random enhancements. ~5-10% chance of Glass per card.
  • Glass Card spawn from Spectrals: some Spectrals (Cryptid duplicates an existing Glass card if you have one).

A typical Glass Joker run aims for 5-10 Glass cards in the deck by Ante 5.

Math: Glass Joker output per ante

With 5 Glass cards in deck, expected destruction per ante is:

  • Each Glass card scored has 25% destruction chance.
  • Across an ante (3 rounds × 3 hands × 5 cards = 45 cards scored, of which ~10 are Glass).
  • Expected destructions per ante: 10 × 0.25 = 2.5 Glass shatters → +×1.875 Glass Joker per ante.

By Ante 8, that's +×15 Glass Joker mult. With more Glass cards: linearly more growth.

Glass Joker + Hologram + Marble

A common "destroy and replace" cycle:

  • Marble Joker adds Stone cards to deck every Blind. Some get enhanced.
  • Hologram gains ×0.25 from each card added.
  • Glass Joker gains ×0.75 from each Glass shattered.

Net cycle: Marble adds → potentially enhance to Glass → Glass shatters → both Hologram (from initial add) and Glass Joker (from shatter) gain. Two scaling jokers from one engine.

Glass Joker + Canio

Canio gains ×1 Mult per face card destroyed. Make Glass face cards → each shatter feeds BOTH Canio and Glass Joker. Pareidolia makes every card a face card → every Glass shatter feeds Canio AND Glass Joker.

Glass + Pareidolia + Canio + Glass Joker is a 4-joker self-fueling engine.

Glass Joker + Blueprint / Brainstorm

Glass Joker's current X mult is multiplicative. Blueprint copy = ×Glass current value once per hand from one slot.

The destruction-driven growth happens only on Glass Joker. Blueprint doesn't gain from Glass shatters — it just reads Glass Joker's current value.

When to take, when to skip

Take Glass Joker:

  • Early-mid run with Justice tarot access (Tarot Pack rotation).
  • Already running Marble + Hologram for the destroy/replace cycle.
  • Canio in build for the face-card destruction feed.

Skip Glass Joker:

  • No Glass card in deck and no tarot access to create them.
  • Heavy Steel card build (Mime + Steel held in hand). Glass destruction empties hand slots you want filled with Steel.
  • The Pillar / The Plant bosses (debuff scored cards) reduce Glass shatter triggers — Chicot fixes.
