How Yorick scales
Yorick gains ×1 Mult per 23 cards discarded. Discards across the entire run accumulate — they don't reset between rounds or antes.
Practical numbers from a normal run with 3 discards per round:

Yorick rewards length and discard volume. A short run that ends at Ante 8 with default discards barely cracks ×8. To make Yorick a real win condition you need to increase discards per round or extend the run.
Discard-multiplier jokers stack with Yorick
- Drunkard / Faceless Joker / Burglar: extra discards per round.
- Castle / Green Joker / Ride the Bus / Square Joker: not discard-related but reward long rounds, pair well with the same playstyle.
- Mail-in Rebate / Trading Card / Faceless Joker: economy off discards — keeps the run alive while Yorick scales.
The math: an extra +2 discards per round across 20 rounds = +40 more discards = +1.7 to Yorick's mult. Worth it for an Uncommon slot if you have nothing better.
Blueprint changes the calculus
Yorick is a top Blueprint target because his current X mult is multiplicative on its own. At Yorick ×8, Blueprint contributes another ×8 — equivalent to another 184 discards from one slot. Brainstorm same logic.
Slot order matters: place Blueprint to Yorick's right so Blueprint reads Yorick. Brainstorm goes to the far left only if Yorick is the leftmost joker — otherwise Brainstorm reads something else.
Run-length plan
For Yorick to peak, the run needs to last. Things that pair:
- Plasma Deck (balanced chips × mult into total) extends usefulness of Yorick's mult contribution at high chip counts.
- Mid-stake difficulties (Black/Blue Stake) rather than Gold/Plasma where boss pressure shortens runs.
- Stuntman + Mime + held-card builds that use fewer cards per played hand, leaving more headroom for discards.
When to take, when to skip
Take Yorick:
- Early hit from The Soul (or via Perkeo Negative copy). 8 antes of compounding discards is significant.
- You already have +discard jokers or are running a discard-heavy archetype.
- You have Blueprint or Brainstorm already in play.
Skip Yorick:
- Ante 6+ with no Blueprint and a low-discard build — you won't bank enough discards before the run ends.
- Hand-played builds (no discard pressure, Throwback / skip-heavy plans) — Yorick rusts.
- You're at the cap of joker slots and Yorick's current mult is below the next-best joker.
